“The Budget has been quite a mixed one. The demand in the e-governance sector is a major opportunity for IT companies. There were greater expectations in terms of reforms in higher education and physical infrastructure. There was no mention of mirroring of SEZ benefits for STPI units. There will be some impact seen on tax due to increase in MAT to 18 percent. There has also been a large outlay on rural development. However, we could have done something more for achieving 10 percent growth in next two years,” says Ashank Desai, the Founder and Non-Executive Chairman, Mastek Ltd.
